BERLIN- The Berlin Junior Dolphins ran their record to 5-1 last week, routing the Salisbury Bulldogs, 32-0, to move closer to a playoff berth in the Salvation Army Youth Football League.

The Dolphins dominated the game from start to finish in a contest decidedly largely in the trenches. Berlin’s offensive line consistently pushed back the Salisbury defenders all day, creating huge holes for the Dolphin’s running backs, who combined for over 300 yards rushing in the game.

Berlin scored early on a 55-yard quarterback keeper by Will Holland and the extra point made it 7-0. After getting the ball back quickly, Berlin scored again on a short field with a touchdown run by Jared King to make it 14-0. King scored again just before the half to extend Berlin’s lead to 20-0 at the intermission.

In the second half, Berlin picked up right where it left off, scoring on an eight-yard TD run by Tayevon Mills to make it 26-0. Berlin’s Andrew Borradale closed out the scoring and the rout with a 23-yard touchdown run to finish the game at 32-0. Now at 5-1 on the season, the Dolphins are poised for a playoff berth. They face the Princess Anne Jaguars tomorrow at noon at Buckingham Elementary. Meanwhile, the Berlin Cadet Dolphins were off last week and get back into action tomorrow on the road against the Wicomico Bulldogs.
