Lucille Ann Clayland

BERLIN – Lucille Ann Clayland, age 78, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.

Born Feb. 28, 1931 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Salvator P. and Theresa C. Brocato. She was the wife of 58 years to Samuel R. Clayland.

Surviving are children, Samuel R. Clayland, Jr., and wife Crystal of Ocean City, Sherrie A. Keeney of Westminster, Daniel E. Clayland of Ocean City, Gina M. Clayland of Westminster, and William D. Clayland of Westminster; grandchildren, Jacqueline O’Brien, Stanley Keeney, Jr., Kevin Clayland, Paige Clayland, and Kasey Clayland; and great-grandchildren, Lukas and Alexis O’Brien.

A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 24 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown, Md., with Msgr. Martin E. Feild officiating. Interment will be private in Grace U.C.C. Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Harold Eugene Ruth

BERLIN – Harold Eugene Ruth, 69, passed away on April 18, 2009.

He was the loving husband of 47 years to his wife, Carol. They had two children, who survive, son Scott married to Dawn Ruth of Leola, and daughter Julie DeWitt of Lancaster. Also surviving are grandchildren Christopher DeWitt and Brittany Ruth, and a half-brother Roy Stonesifer, Westminster.

He served four years in the United States Air Force. Stationed in Dover, Del., he did tours in Europe and Northern Africa. After honing his mechanical skills with the Air Force, he worked 15 years as a welder for New Holland Machine Company in Mountville. A few years in the delicatessen/farm market business, with his brother-in-law, Clifford Bixler, led him to the Kellogg’s Company to continue his mechanical work.

Retiring from Kellogg’s in 2000, Harold and Carol moved from Lititz, Pa. to Bishopville, creating a beach house retreat for family and friends.

Worthy Charles Graham

OCEAN CITY – Worthy Charles Graham, age 66, died Monday, April 13, 2009 at his second home in Ann Arbor, Mich. after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Born in Morgantown, W.Va., he was the son of Wilfred C. Graham and the late Virginia Barnes Graham. He grew up in Morgantown, where he married his high school sweetheart, Jane Ellen, on June 6, 1964. In 1967, he graduated from West Virginia University with a Master of Arts in Education. Just after the birth of their first daughter, the Grahams moved to Maryland where Worthy served in multiple capacities with the Worcester County Board of Education until he retired in 2005.

He was an active member and past President of the Berlin/Ocean City Optimist Club where he chaired the Ocean City Boat Show for many years. He was also past President of the Snow Hill Jaycees and an active 4-H Parent.

He is survived by his father, Wilfred C. Graham, of Morgantown, W.Va.; wife, Jane E. Graham, of Ocean City; daughter, Lieutenant Colonel Sherry L. Graham, stationed in Japan with grand-dog, Cisco; daughter Susan, residing in Ann Arbor, Mich. with her husband John Brimacombe; grandchildren Serena Marie and Landon Graham Brimacombe of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and sister-in-law, Brenda L. Hood of Morgantown, W.Va.

OCEAN CITY – Mary Ann Collins passed away on April 20, 2009 at home.

She was the beloved daughter of Mary Kleba Motsko and the late John Motsko. She was the devoted mother of Michael S. Collins, April C. Winterson and her husband Nathan, and loving sister of John Motsko and his wife Janine, Jimmy Motsko, Bill Motsko, Mark Motsko and his wife Phyllis and Denny Motsko and his wife Michele. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was a kind and loving person whom everyone loved when they met her. She is remembered for her big smile, her big heart, love of the ocean and a saying within her family, "Oceans of Love".

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 24, 2009 at St. Mary Star-of-the Sea Catholic Church in Ocean City at 1 p.m. Rev. John P. Klevence will officiate. Friends may call at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin on Friday from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mary A.
