Realtors Sponsoring Scholarships

BERLIN – The Coastal Delmarva Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) has announced it will once again be awarding the Vicki Rinaldi and Betty Chafin Memorial Scholarships in 2009.

The scholarship program is open to graduating seniors, college or trade school students from Worcester County, as well as children and grandchildren of current members of the Coastal Delmarva Women’s Council of Realtors® who have been in good standing for at least one year prior to application.

OCEAN CITY – ResortQuest Real Estate announced January’s top producers for all locations at a recent sales meeting.

Tammy Hadder and Anna Meiklejohn of the Marketplace office received top honors for No. 1 listing volume and No. 1 sales volume for the month of January.

WILLARDS – Atlantic/Smith, Cropper & Deeley has announced Nicole Brushmiller as top producer for January. Brushmiller, a property and casualty account executive, specializes in commercial and transportation insurance.

New Directors Named

SALISBURY – Peggy Naleppa, president of Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, has announced that Steve Leonard and Bruce Patterson have been named Executive Directors of Operational Performance Improvement and Facilities and Properties, respectively.

Leonard, who most recently served as the Director of Operational Performance Improvement, has been with the Medical Center since 2003. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors in Management and Finance, and also earned his MBA from Salisbury University. Leonard is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. His group has contributed towards improved performance in departments such as the Lab, Radiology, Surgical Services and Emergency Services, while supporting organizational efforts around decision support, clinical quality and the utilization of new space throughout the recent expansion. As executive director, Leonard will be responsible for ongoing operationally oriented improvement activities, Materials Management, implementation of Lean and other contemporary improvement techniques and the establishment of systems to align the organization towards its goals and objectives.

Patterson, a 24-year veteran of the Medical Center, had served as its Director of Facilities Management since 1985.  He has overseen a number of multi-million dollar facility and campus improvements during his career, including Peninsula Regional’s current $100 million expansion and renovation project-the largest ever in Wicomico County- scheduled for completion this summer. Patterson’s educational background is in power plant engineering and business management.

Rick Sanders, CHFM has been appointed to the Director’s position previously held by Patterson in Facilities Management. Sanders, a United States Navy veteran with 21-years of service, holds a BS degree from Crichton College in Memphis, Tenn. in Organizational Management. He has spent the past 12 years in health care facility management positions including the last four at Peninsula Regional as the Medical Center’s Assistant Director of Facilities Management.
