John Paul Huber

OCEAN CITY – John Paul Huber, age 76, died on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at his home in Ocean City.

Born in New York, he was the son of the late John D. Huber and Marian Hartford Huber.

He is survived by a son, Donald Huber; two daughters, Rhonda Huber, and Maureen Adamecz and her husband Ronald; two sisters, Mary Ann Schuchart and her husband Larry and Margaret Torchia and her husband Gildo; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; longtime family friend Diane Boone; and many nieces nephews and loved ones. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara E. Huber.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Ocean City where friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Rev. John P. Klevence will officiate. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Worcester County Humane Society, PO Box 48, Berlin, Md. 21811. Arrangements by Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Howard Randolph  Rutherford

OCEAN CITY – Howard Randolph "Snookie" Rutherford, age 81, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

Born on March 28, 1927 in Delaplane,

Fauquier City, Va., he was the son of the late William Jackson Rutherford and Minnie Elizabeth (Pearson) Rutherford.

Rutherford had worked for many years for George Hyman/Clark Construction Companies. He was a member of the Rodman’s Local 201, American Legion, Berlin, and VFW, Ocean City. He was a WWII veteran and active in duckpin bowling and baseball leagues for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy Ellen (McWilliams) Rutherford; a son, John Arthur Rutherford and his wife Sharon Faye of New Market, Md.; two granddaughters, Kimberly Marie Barbour and her husband Patrick of Apex, N.C. and Michele Renee Smith and her husband Mickey of Monrovia, Md.; four great grandchildren, Emily and Rylee Barbour and Jordan and Allen Smith; a brother, William "Bill" Rutherford of Colonial Beach, Va.; and one sister, Mildred Lawhorn of Oxon Hill, Md.

Billie Crocker Arblaster

BERLIN – Billie Crocker "B.C." Arblaster, 89, formerly of Berlin, died the afternoon of Feb. 15, 2009 at Catered Living of Ocean Pines.

Born May 23, 1919 in Slippery Rock, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel and Katherine Crocker Arblaster.

He married the former Janet M. Foreman on July 3, 1942. She died Jan. 30, 1994. Arblaster retired in 1984 as a foreman with Mesta Machine Co. He was a 1937 graduate of New Castle High School. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mahoning-New Castle Lodge 243 and served as worshipful master in 1965.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judith A. and Terry L. Chuvala of Berlin; a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Rhonda L. Arblaster of Yardley, Pa.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Arblaster, Paul Arblaster and Elgie Arblaster.

Services were held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Believe in Tomorrow, PO Box 3627, Ocean City, Md. 21842.

Virginia L. Robinson

BERLIN – On Feb. 22, 2009, Virginia Lee (nee Kable) died.

She was the devoted wife of the late Charles (Robbie) Ribinson; devoted mother of Thomas Robinson Sr. and his wife Gloria and Michael Robinson and his wife Yvette; dear grandmother of Douglas Robinson Sr. and the late Thomas Robinson Jr.; dear sister of William Kable and Peggy Kravitz; and great-grandmother of four.

She was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Hebrew Friendship Cemetery and was the former treasurer of the Sea Nymph Condo Association in Ocean City.
