Monday, June 30 – Ocean City Plans Fourth Celebrations

OCEAN CITY – The Fourth of July will be filled with family fun in Ocean City with two great ways to celebrate this special day – Jamboree in the Park at Northside Park and Fourth of July concert and fireworks on the beach at North Division Street.

Jamboree in the Park offers action-packed activities the whole family will enjoy.  Beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing on until the evening’s fireworks display at 9:30 p.m., an exciting slate of activities, including arts and crafts, children’s games, live music and food will beckon families to Northside Park, located at 127th St. and the bay.

Bring your appetite along. Jamboree in the Park offers food galore such as snow cones, funnel cakes, lemonade, Italian ice, barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, Italian sausage, French fries, cheese steaks, ice cream, pretzels, grilled chicken, Caesar salads and much, much more to satisfy your taste buds.

The Fun Field is filled with wonderful things for families to enjoy. The inflatables field, and the dunking tank are always fun attractions, while the 25-cent carnival games (where everyone’s a winner) keep children fully entertained.

Jamboree also offers a battery of old-fashioned picnic favorites, including tug-of-war, sack races, three-legged races, intermixed with a challenging soccer shoot-out. The best thing about all the children’s activities is they’re free.

Special contests are always a highlight at Jamboree in the Park. Early registration is recommended for these activities, as participation is limited.

The spectacular fireworks display will be shot from the west side of the park at 9:30 p.m.  You’ll hear the oohs and aahs throughout the park as the colorful displays light up the evening sky. Get there early to claim the best location to view the fireworks.

Those who prefer to spend the Fourth of July on the south end of town can enjoy Ocean City’s famous Boardwalk with its bright lights, wonderful food and family fun.

Bring your beach chair or blanket and claim a spot on the beach at North Division Street for a patriotic concert featuring the United States Navy Band and Sea Chanters at 8 p.m. Fabulous fireworks will also fill the sky over the ocean downtown beginning at 9:30 p.m. Parking is extremely limited at both the north and south fireworks locations. It is recommended that you take the bus. Bus service is $2 a day and runs 24 hours a day.
