Wednesday, February 13 – Worcester Sides With Clinton, McCain

BERLIN – Although the national picture remains muddy today, Worcester County, home to Ocean City, Ocean Pines, Berlin, Snow Hill and Pocomoke, let its voice be heard yesterday in the 2008 Presidential Primary.

Although the results are unofficial at this time, here’s a look at a couple key points from yesterday’s election.

— Worcester County barely went with Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential contest. Forty-seven percent , or 3,175 voters, favored Clinton over upstart Sen. Barack Obama, who received 46 percent of the vote, or 3,073. Finishing in third place was John Edwards, receiving 2 percent of the vote.

— On the Republican presidential side, Sen. John McCain received a vote of confidence, securing 60 percent, or 3,276, of the vote. Finishing in second was Mike Huckabee with 29 percent of the vote.
