Thursday, December 20 – Reward Offered In Missing Woman Case

BERLIN – The family of a Delaware woman and mother of two, who went missing in the Pocomoke area over a month ago, this week offered a $5,000 reward for information to help locate her as the holidays near.

Christine Marie Sheddy, 27, of Bowers Beach, Del., was last seen on Nov. 13 in the Byrd Street area of Pocomoke. She has been missing for about five weeks now, touching off a search effort across Worcester County that has been expanded to include neighboring Delaware and Virginia. The Worcester County Sheriff’s Department is the lead agency on the investigation with allied law enforcement agencies across three states cooperating.

Sheddy left her Bowers Beach, Del. home on Nov. 13 with her two sons, ages two and four, in tow to visit a couple in Pocomoke she had met earlier through her boyfriend. Sheddy remained behind with her two sons at the Pocomoke residence while the couple went to pick up their own children at school.

When the couple returned, Sheddy was gone and her two boys were left home alone. Sheddy was supposed to have returned to her Bowers Beach residence on Nov. 17. She was reported missing, touching off a search throughout the county and beyond. According to reports, Sheddy’s two sons are now staying with their father.

Sheddy is a white female, age 27, approximately 5-feet, 3-inches tall and around 100 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she had blond, shoulder-length hair.

Anyone with information about Sheddy is urged to contact the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation (WCBI) at 410-352-3476, or the County Sheriff’s Department at 410-632-1111.
