Cops Seek Armed Robbery Suspect

OCEAN CITY – Resort police this week are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at a downtown hotel early Monday morning.

Shortly before 5 a.m. on Monday, Ocean City Police were called to the Stowaway Grand Hotel to investigate an armed robbery. According to police reports, the suspect confronted the desk clerk with a handgun and demanded she take him to the safe. The suspect reportedly forced the clerk to open the safe and removed an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then forced the female clerk to sit in a chair while he secured her with duct tape.

The suspect first secured the clerk’s hands behind her back and then he tied her to the chair with duct tape, according to the statement provided to the police. The clerk told police the suspect began to slap her repeatedly before putting duct tape over her mouth. After that, the suspect immediately fled the area.

According to the statement provided by the clerk to police, the suspect was dressed in dark clothing and wore a mask covering his face. The clerk could only describe the suspect as a male, about 5’10” to 6’ tall with a medium build.
