We Remember Those Who Have Passed

Maude W. Love

WHALEYSVILLE – Maude W. Love, 93, of Whaleysville died Monday, July 9, 2007, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

Born in Whaleysville, she was the daughter of the late Walter P. and Josephine Dale Whaley.

She had been a registered nurse for more than 30 years and retired in 1977 from the Worcester County Health Department as the director of nursing. She was an active member of Whaleysville United Methodist Church and was also a member of Worcester County Women’s Club.

She is survived by her son, Franklin W. Love of Whaleysville; her daughter, Dr. Lillian Love and her husband, Burt Saunders, of Naples, Fla.; her sister, Harriett Adams of Whitestone, Va.; and three grandchildren, Franklin Thompson, Jonathan and Matthew Saunders.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Love, in 1990.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Whaleysville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends and family may call an hour prior to the service at the church.

George L. Babb

BERLIN – George L. Babb, 76, of Berlin died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Atlantic General Hospital.

Born in Moberly, Mo., he was the son of the late George L. Sr. and Clara Hickey Babb.

He had worked for Cropper & Brittingham in Berlin for 49 years. He attended Friendship United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline E. Babb of Berlin.

J. Kennard Hudson

SHOWELL — J. Kennard Hudson, 78, of Showell died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, at home.
Born in Ocean City, he was the son of the late James N. and Gladys Campbell Hudson.

He was a former member of the Showell Volunteer Fire Department, a life member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Boggs-Disharoon American Legion Post 123 in Berlin.

He is survived by a son, Keith Hudson of Showell; a daughter, Kandis L. Layne of Showell; a sister, Ruth Ann Collins of Millville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie T. Hudson, in 1998.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bishopville Cemetery. The Rev. Berry McCready will officiate.
