Re/Max Awards Presented

OCEAN CITY – Terry Daly, general manager for Re/Max Premier Properties, recently announced the Re/Max International Sales Awards for 2006.

Receiving Executive Club Awards were Nick Bobenko, Karen Kriege, Eric Cropper, Jeff Burton, Tom Neidenbach, Bethany Given, Grant Fritschle, Linda Westerside, Mary Stover, Cindy Purcell, Cindy Poremski and Mary Ann O’Malley.

The 100% Club Awards were presented to Patty Cummings, Mike Piasecki, Dave Whittington, Della Wilson, Jim and Leslie White, Bob Ott and Erik Windrow.

Platinum Club Award winners were Joy Snyder and Marlene Ott.

A new honor, the Re/Max Diamond Award, for associates who earned at least $1 million in 2006 commissions, was presented to Mark Fritschle.

GRI Designations

BERLIN – Five Coastal Association of Realtors® members were recently awarded the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation.

They are Jeffrey Champan, Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc.; Amy Davis, ERA Martin Associates; Scott Guay, Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc.; Charles Leo, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage; and Janel Warren, Sheppard Realty, Inc.

These agents join other top producers in the residential real estate industry who hold the designation across the nation. They earned the GRI designation by attending a specific, intensive series of a minimum of 90 hours of classroom instruction, covering a variety of subjects including: contact law, professional standards, sales and marketing, finance and risk reduction.

Financial Reporting Award For Town

OCEAN CITY – The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Town of Ocean City by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been presented to Martha J. Bennett, Ocean City Finance Administrator, as the individual designated by the town as primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR. This is the 19th year Bennett has received the award.

New Executive Director

BETHANY BEACH – The Board of Trustees of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation and the Board of Directors of the newly-formed Joshua M. Freeman Foundation have named Jean Shaughnessy Hodges as executive director of both foundations. Hodges, who will take leadership on Sept. 1, joins the foundations after more than a decade of working closely with the family’s business, its leadership and the Foundations.

"We are so excited to welcome Jean to our team. Her vision, energy and commitment to excellence fit perfectly with the future of our foundations," said Michelle D. Freeman, chairman and president of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation and the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation. "We are confident that Jean will guide us to our ultimate goal of being a creative leader in philanthropy through grant making and the completion of the Joshua M. Freeman Center for Performing Arts at Bayside in Fenwick Island, Del."

Under Hodges leadership, the Carl M. Freeman Foundation will continue its grant-making efforts in Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Talbot and Worcester counties, Sussex County and in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Hodges will also guide the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, established this year to honor Joshua Freeman following his death in its mission to raise funds and build buildings that support his legacy.

PRMC Announcement

SALISBURY – Matthew L. Snyder, MD will deliver Radiation Oncology services at the Peninsula Cancer Center at Peninsula Regional Medical Center beginning July 1.

Snyder, a radiation oncology specialist, received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed an internship in general surgery at George Washington University Medical Center and a residency in radiation oncology at Georgetown University, where he served as Chief Resident. Snyder also completed a research fellowship in Radiation Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, which is one of the individual organizations making up the National Institute of Health in Bethesda.

Snyder has been a member of the medical staff of Maryland Regional Cancer Care for the past seven years where he currently serves as the medical director of both its College Park and Bowie locations.

Snyder is a partner of Associates in Radiation Medicine (ARM), an organization which provides professional services for the Radiation Oncology division of the Peninsula Cancer Center at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
