OCEAN CITY- Resort police are searching for four suspects involved in an armed robbery in Ocean City early Monday morning.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning, Ocean City Police Department officers responded to a reported armed robbery on Baltimore Ave. around 21st Street. The investigation revealed the victim had met the four suspects on the Boardwalk near Wicomico Street and later walked with them from the downtown area to 21st Street where the group exited the Boardwalk.
At that point, one of the suspects produced a small caliber handgun and robbed the victim. The suspects then fled the area with the victim’s cell phone and wallet. During the walk along the Boardwalk to 21st Street, the victim was able to learn much about the suspects. For example, the suspects claimed they were staying in the area of 27th Street in the resort.
The suspects also told the victim they were going to a prom party near the area of 113th Street or 116th Street. The suspects also told the victim they were traveling in a 1990s Cadillac with 24-inch chrome wheels.
The victim was able to provide detailed descriptions of each of the suspects. For example, the suspect that wielded the gun was described as a white male between the ages of 19-21, about 5’6” tall and weighing around 300 pounds. He has dirty blond hair and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a white design on it. The suspect claimed he was originally from the Philadelphia area but now resided in New York.
The second suspect was described as a white male around 19 or 20 years old about 6” tall with short hair and a long, narrow face. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident with red and white designs on it.
The third suspect was described as a white male around 20 years old around 5’6” tall wearing a black horizontally-striped button-up shirt with just the last two buttons buttoned. The victim told police this suspect said his name was Chris.
The fourth suspect was described as a white female, around 20 years old and about 5’7” tall. The suspect had blond hair was wearing an off-white and bronze sweatshirt with thick, Z-shaped patterns on the back in alternating colors of black, red and gray. The victim did not know the suspect’s name but is fairly certain in began with an “E.”
As of late yesterday, resort police were still searching for the four suspects involved in the armed robbery at 21st Street early Monday morning.
