BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team
enjoyed a successful week, beating Wilmington Friends, 16-11, at home last
Saturday and following that up with a one-sided win over ESIAC rival Gunston on
Monday.

Worcester played a balanced game against Wilmington
Friends last Saturday, jumping out to a 12-8 lead by half-time and cruising to
the 16-11 win over the Delaware team. Caroline Wyatt led the Mallard attack
with four goals, while Kristen Chandler and Alexa Wyatt each scored three
goals. Sophie Townsend and Jackie Wangel each scored two goals, while Mackenzie
White and Mary Alex Hudson pitched in single goals.

The win, combined with a 11-4, over Gunston on the road on
Monday improved Worcester’s record to 3-1 on the season. Chandler, Wangel, Tory
Dickerson and Codee Buckler each scored two goals in the win over Gunston.

Worcester
now enters the meat of its schedule with five games in eight days starting with
this afternoon’s home game against Cape Henlopen and culminating with a date
with cross-town rival Stephen Decatur on April 30. Sandwiched in between are
games with Kent County, Caesar Rodney and Salisbury School.
